An air washer is used for industrial air purification and combines precise humidification with effective particle separation. It complements modern air purifiers in process air technology. The system works on the principle of water scrubbing, in which air is passed through a scrubbing zone with recirculating water. This washes out particles and water-soluble gases, reliably removing pollutants and fine dust.
Air washer systems from Lavair are used in process air conditioning, clean room technology and building air conditioning. They enable precise air humidification and exhaust air purification in process air technology and meet the highest hygiene requirements in accordance with VDI 6022.

The SCRUBVAP® air washer is characterized by its high humidification and cleaning performance and outperforms conventional humidification systems in terms of efficiency and control accuracy. Thanks to the combination of precise humidity control and high humidification performance, it reliably washes out particles and water-soluble pollutants. How does our air washer work?
The basic principle of our air washer is simple:
Lavair supplies air washers in a completely watertight, pickled stainless steel housing and with all the necessary outlet components, such as pipes, level control, valves, pumps, UV sterilization, conductivity measurement and compatibility with common higher-level control systems (e.g. Siemens, etc.).
- A centrifugal pump in the air washer draws in the water, which is contained in a tub.
- The water sucked in is sprayed into the duct via nozzles.
- Water that has not evaporated and has not been absorbed by the air automatically falls back into the tray and is reused. This results in virtually no water loss. Only the water that has evaporated needs to be refilled.
- At the end of the air washer there is a droplet separator profile that catches the water droplets.
